Nature Trail
In 2011 we started a lovely nature trail around the Community Club property. The trail gently loops around the farmers field through maple and birch trees with excellent views of the marsh and water.
Mid-way along the loop there is a path leading to the old "Stone Road" which was used at one time to get to school by way of the Old School Road in Nauwigewauk. The road has washed away but you are still able to walk out quite far for a different view of the marsh.
There are a few entrances
1. Darlings Island Cover Bridge: Across from the Darlings Island Bridge. As you walk across the road look for some orange markers just on the other side of the guard rail.
2. Beside the baseball field. Just past where the old canteen used to be, you will see markers to the trail. This will take you in a few directions, one out to where the old fire hall used to be, and the other to the BBQ pit. Note that if you go to the left you will come to a branch in the trail that will take you on the full loop to the bridge.
3. Near the Park: Go to the rear of where the old Fire Hall used to be (to the left of the park) and you will see markers.
4. Tennis Courts: just to the right of the tennis courts you will see a mountain bike trail.
The trails need constant upkeep and we would welcome any help, so feel free to take your clippers if you go out for a walk.
